Service

• Piemo provides machine translation so that people who speak two different languages can talk in the same room, each in their own language. Translations are generated automatically and may contain errors. For important matters such as health, money or legal issues, please check the original text and use the “Check the meaning again” feature.

Accounts and rooms

• Members sign up after confirming their email address with a verification code, and must be 14 years of age or older. Invited people can join from an invite link with only a name, a form of address and a language (quick join — they can continue only on that device), and may create an account with an email address if they wish. There is no limit on the number of rooms, and each room can have up to 50 people.

Fees and monthly usage

• Piemo is currently provided free of charge. When you create an account, we provide 500 bonus translations (once), and each account receives 200 translations per month (counted from the 1st of each month, Korea time).
• In a room for two people, the room creator's allowance is used first. When it runs out, the other person's allowance is used if they have an account (if both people have accounts, a combined 400 translations per month). In rooms with three or more people, only the room creator's allowance is used. People who joined with quick join do not have their own allowance.
• When the allowance runs out, only translation stops for the rest of that month, and conversations continue. Messages that were not translated can be translated the next month with [Try again].
• Bonus translations received as the sign-up bonus (500), as the bonus for consenting to receive marketing information (once per account, 500), from referral codes or as rewards from the operator are used after the monthly allowance runs out. Bonus translations can be used for 90 days from the day they are received, and any remaining after that expire (those closest to expiry are used first). If you withdraw your consent to receive marketing information, bonuses you already received remain. Each account can use a code only once. Bonus translations cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another account.
• If we switch to a paid service or reduce the free allowance, we will announce the details and start date in the app at least 7 days in advance, and no fees will be charged before then. Payment terms and refunds will be set out in that notice.

Prohibited conduct

• Impersonating others, sending illegal or harmful content, overloading the service, and distributing links without permission. If you violate these rules, we may restrict rooms or accounts.

Liability

• We are liable for damages caused by translation errors, delays or failures of external services (OpenAI, Ably, etc.) to the extent provided by applicable law. Users are responsible for the content of their conversations.

Changes and contact
